SMAR Selects New CEO

Hughesville, MD - The Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS® (SMAR) announced today the appointment of Richard Marshall as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Marshall will succeed Jann Clark, who graciously served as Interim CEO during a national search, effective December 3, 2018. Effective December 3rd, he may be reached here via email.

Marshall has worked as a Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer in the association industry since 1992 and comes to SMAR with experience in successfully leading REALTOR® Associations.  Marshall served as the Director of Finance & Technology for the Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS®, and as the CEO for the Southside Virginia Association of REALTORS®, Prince William Association of REALTORS®, and the REALTORS® of South-Central Kansas.

Marshall has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration. He holds the prestigious REALTOR® Association Certified Executive (RCE) designation, has an e-PRO® certification and is a Certified Professional Standards Administrator.
